Who We Are

Hi! We're the Cooper's, the family that's behind this operation. We wanted to take a moment to introduce ourselves, as well as our incredibly special team that shows up for us every single day.

Diane and Mike were raised in Lincoln and continued to make it their home for their two girls, Shane and Natalie. Mike worked at Zoetis for nearly 30 years before joining his family's business (we're so thankful he did)! Shane and Natalie both graduated from UNL and joined their mom's side soon after. Together, we decided we make a pretty great team <3.

Shane and her husband Billy love Lincoln and feel so lucky to call this city home. They met at the University in 2008 and the rest is history! They welcomed their little boy, Chip in February of 2022 and he continues to be the light of their days. Last December, Billy decided he wanted in on our fun and joined our company as our controller/head of operations. He loves to cheer us on and watch our business grow!

Natalie and her husband Cam are thrilled to be back in Lincoln after living in Omaha for a brief time. Cam works for Baxter Medical Sales but is always willing to lend a helping hand in our stockroom-ha! In March of 2022, they welcomed their first baby, Brooks. Their little man keeps them on their toes and fills their hearts with so much joy!

Mike and Diane feel so blessed to have both girls by their side each and every day. They can't wait to recruit their grandsons one of these days and watch their legacy continue. They continue to feel humbled by the amount of support they have received from friends, family, and the community over the years.

On behalf of our family, we cannot thank you all enough for supporting our little dream. We feel beyond lucky to call Lincoln home. Cooper & Co. Home + Gift would not be what it is without our wonderful customers. 

The Story of Cooper & Co. 

It may be difficult to imagine now, but the storefront you see today actually started as a basement story. Our fearless leader, Diane, has always held a passion for retail and in 1999 she made the leap to open her own business, formerly known as The Basket Bunch. After spending many Saturday mornings down at the Farmer's Market, and holding events in her own home, Diane eventually opened the little shop on Lowell Ave. Many of you remember it as 'The Little White House with Polka Dot Shutters'. From 2001 to 2018, that little shop created so much magic. Our family holds those years near and dear to our hearts. We met so many special customers that we now consider friends. After graduating from the University in 2010, Shane was able to begin working side by side with Diane. The business was experiencing so much growth and out little house was beginning to feel a bit tight!

In 2015, our sister store, Cooper & Co. Home + Gift was born. We needed a place to expand on the home décor and unique furniture we had access to when we traveled to trade shows. Natalie had graduated from the University and was ready to join in on our business ventures! For a year, we operated as two separate businesses. In May of 2017, we opened our south doors on Winthrop Road. We couldn't believe the response! After just one year, we were offered to take possession of the north side, an offer we simply couldn't refuse, although it seemed a little crazy at the time! With that, we made the difficult decision to combine the two businesses and close The Basket Bunch.

In April of 2019, the doors to what we refer to as our 'Furniture Side', opened! With all our growth, we have gained the most incredible team. We consider our staff a part of our family and we pride ourselves on how well they represent our family and business every single day. If you've paid a visit to our store, you know this to be true!
